Presidents Letter

Hello Members,

I hope this letter finds you well.  Things are moving along at the Club.  We have had our regular scheduled Board Meetings handling all business as usual.

The logging project is still in full swing, they are working out past the pond so range disruption should be minimal at this point.  It looks to be the end of August for completion.

The National Guard has not been back to the club yet as they have been having equipment issues and were sent to Puerto Rico this year for their 2 week drill. They have indicated that they will be back potentially September 8, 9 & 10 and the first weekend in October but that has not been confirmed.  We will let you know as soon as we know.  The project they will be focusing on will be Fire Roads and stump removal.

Our club has been well represented this year with competitors out in various parts of the Country Competing in High Power, Smallbore and Pistol.  We will have a full list of accomplishments at the next Club Meeting.  We have a lot to be proud of!

We are still having some problems at the 50 yd. covered range.  It is very important that you know where your rounds are going. They must be going into the berm.  We have had numerous reports that they are going into the grass or over the berm.  Please be aware that it makes a big difference in trajectory depending on if you are bench resting vs standing.  Please be aware of this and correct the height of you target accordingly.  Also, please pick up after your are done shooting, brass, targets debris.  Keep it clean for the sake of all members.

Thank you to all the work parties, volunteers, committees and our grounds keeper Bill Clegg for all of the property upkeep, equipment maintenance and repairs, it is always such a pleasure to drive onto the property and see what a beautiful club we have and all of the improvements in progress.

We are looking for Skeet shooters on Sunday mornings at 9:00AM.

We need a member or members who can commit to running Skeet every Sunday.

If you are interested, please see Glenn Gardner at the Trap field on Sunday Mornings or at the next regular meeting on September 9th.

I look forward to seeing you all in September.  Enjoy the rest of your summer.

Sincerely,

Brenda Jacob, President
